Analysisng sound

Zodiac

In this blogpost I am analysing sound from the opening scene in a film called Zodiac.

The opening scene has music, dialogue and foleys. The music is upbeat to show how the characters are in a rush. The characters also have dialogue to show the viewers what is going on. The scene also has foleys which make the scene more real to the viewers.

I thought the sound was good in this scene because it brought the visuals to life and the music also made it more interesting. This gave me some ideas for our opening scene:

• Music- We can use music to make our scene interesting and set set tone
• Sound mix- Mixing the sound from the scene and any other sound we want to put over it is important.
• Foleys- Its important to make sure these sounds are at the right level as it adds t the realism of the scene
