Analysis
In my opinion this film opening is extremely good. These students have clearly portrayed to the audience that the genre is a thriller through the use of setting,effects, typography,sounds/music, props and lighting.The combination of the close up of the written "ROSE" and the lighting (shadowed outsides while light shone on the name) allowed me to infer that the spotlight is on Rose and she is the protagonist of the film the darkness could have also meant that there is an evilness that she is centered in.

One purpose of a film opening is to introduce or hint the concept of the film to the audience. The way props were used were so significant in doing this. The pictures of her and each male shows that she has been in relationships with them and the rose has connotations of love yet also death so we can guess that deaths caused by the passion of love may occur.
