What is Genre?

Genres are a style or category of art, music and literature and are used as way to categorize different products that share similar features or characteristics.

Sub-genre: Is a subdivision for a films genre. For example an action film may have elements of comedy in it.

Hybrid genre:A complete blend of at least two different genres. For example a RomCom.

Codes & Conventions: A system of sequenced signs that create meaning or a message of the genre.

Genre tropes:Elements of a genre that have been over used.

Sci-Fi Action: The characters(zombies) , Lighting , Effects(smokes), positioning of characters, the actions/movement of characters, the costume.

Comedy Drama: Character, out of the norm situation (elderly woman in jail), actor(man playing a woman)
