What is a genre?
Definitions :
Genre: A style or category of art, music or literature.
Sub-Genre: A subdivision of a genre of literature, music and film.
Hybrid genre: A genre in fiction that blends themes and elements from 2 or more different genres
Codes and Conventions: Codes are a system of signs which create meaning.
Genre Tropes: A familiar and repeated symbol, meme, theme, motif, style, character or thing that permeates a particular type of literature, often overused.
